Cambodia Visa Eligibility: Who Qualifies for a Visa and What You Need to Know
A land with old temples and tranquil beaches is bound to be alluring. And that is exactly why Cambodia pulls tourists all over the year to a great extent. Known as the home of Angkor Wat, Cambodia is a beautiful country with a lush green landscape and fascinating history and culture. To experience this firsthand, you have to acquire an eVisa.
Back in 2016, the Cambodian government launched the eVisa, making it easier for tourists from all countries to gain entry into the land. With the introduction of the eVisa, the hassle of applying for a traditional visa has been eliminated for most countries. Instead of taking rounds at the Embassy for days, the eVisa application gets done in about some minutes or, at max, an hour.
However, you have to know about the requirements for Cambodia visa eligibility for a smooth approval procedure. Being aware of the eligibility criteria will ensure that you know if you are allowed to apply for an eVisa or if you have the right documents that will guarantee a visa approval right away.
Applying for a Cambodia eVisa the Right Way
A popular tourist destination, Cambodia’s tourism sector is flourishing. Besides its fantastic natural beauty and rich historical background, the country offers easy eVisa to most foreign nations.
Owing to this, travelers can get the visa application procedure all wrapped up within minutes and not have to visit the Embassy over and over again to get the approval.
The application procedure is entirely conducted online and is extremely easy.
Filling out the online form
Ensure you hold a valid passport for filling out the online application form. Put relevant details in every blank section, and be mindful of not making any spelling mistakes or putting incorrect passport or personal details.
Read the T&C and accept them as you proceed with the form submission. Remember that holding an eVisa does not guarantee your entry into the country; there can be grounds for holding you back according to the country’s immigration policies.
The questions for Business eVisas might be a little different than those of Tourist eVisas. Also, the documents you are uploading can be different for the two types of Cambodia eVisa, as set by the requirements for Cambodia visa eligibility.
Covering the application fee
You are required to pay the eVisa fee post form submission. Unless the payment gets done, your visa approval procedure will not be initiated. Make the payment with a card that is authorised for international transactions. Owing to the reliability of our portal, you need not worry about getaway safety; we ensure that no failed transaction or fraud happens.
Checking your email inbox for the final document
The email ID that you mentioned on the online form will be used by the authorities to send you the final document for the approved visa. A PDF of the visa will be sent to your ID, and you can get a printed copy of the same.
Also, as you make the payment, you will receive a unique application ID containing a certain number. Use that to check the progress of your visa approval procedure.
Know if You Are Eligible for the eVisa
Applying through our portal will make the process a lot easier. You must know of the limitations. The government has set certain Cambodia visa eligibility that let individuals know if they are permissible to apply for an eVisa.
Countries
The requirements vary from different nationalities to other factors like holding valid documents.
If you belong to any of these countries, you are eligible for an eVisa.
The countries that are not allowed an eVisa are Algeria, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Syria, or Sudan. If you belong to any of these countries and wish to visit Cambodia, you have to apply for the traditional tourist visa. You must go to the Embassy and go through the rigorous visa approval procedure. VoA is also applicable to these countries.
Documents
You need to hold certain documents for your visa to get approved. Without that, the visa stands to get canceled.
Your Cambodia visa eligibility depends on the following documents:
For Tourist eVisa
- A passport (6 months+ validity after exit date and two blank pages)
- A passport-sized photograph that is clearly scanned and has your picture in front of a white background
- All documents that work as proof of your intent and itinerary covering the days of your travel
- The receipt that shows your hotel bookings
For Business eVisa
- A letter from your employer speaking of your honest intent
- A business card from the place of the invitation
- A call letter issued by the company that has invited you to the business conference
- An invitation card that gives you access to the conference or seminar
Besides these, the Cambodia visa eligibility also requires you to ensure that:
- You have enough financial means to sustain your stay in a foreign country. Present bank receipts or any other document that testifies to your statement.
- You have strong ties to your homeland and have honest intentions of returning to your country after the time period is over.
- You have a genuine intent to visit Cambodia and not have any dishonest purpose.
- You have no criminal records in your name and that you are free from any past visa frauds.
- You are in perfect health to enter the country.
Port of Entry
Upon getting the PDF of the Cambodia eVisa, you need to get a printed version. Carry that with you and show it as you arrive at the mentioned port of entry. Know that if you have mentioned one port of entry on the application form and have gone somewhere else upon arrival, you will be denied entry into the country.
